My new books, with paper engineer Corina Fletcher, published by Simon and Schuster UK - are on the shelves this week - they look SO fab and I am super proud. The books have gorgeous big sliding tabs and teach kids about location and measurement. Yay for me!

I am a member of the wonderful Illustrators Australia. IA recently held a T-shirt exhibition in conjunction with Red Bubble. I was not well and I missed the opening night - and to my shock - I won the IA award for my T-shirt design 'Top Hat Fox' - thanks IA!! I visited the exhibition on the weekend and it looked totally fab - and I took a couple of dodgy iPhone photos to put on my blog. I also spotted my Millie-Mae 'Through the Seasons' books in the new glorious red and white polkadot slipcase at Dymocks. It looks super cute, and so nice that all four books can be kept together in a lovely box. Lucky I had a small daughter on hand to model the box for me. I spotted my new touch and feel books published by The Five Mile Press on the shelf at Dymocks on Chapel Street on the weekend - I LOVE seeing my books on the shelves - it is a thrill.
I did the design and illustration for our local primary school Trivia Night... I am also secretly hoping to correctly answer at least one question at the event...
Ooh I LOVE receiving big boxes of samples - especially when they arrive on a Monday. I unpacked the box to find samples of my latest books with the wonderful Five Mile Press. I has such fun illustrating and designing these titles, and I was able to use lots of fun finishes like foil, embossing, glitter and fur! The books look pretty amazing - gorgeous color and beautiful finishing. The photos below show the covers and most of the spreads - the polar bear cover is furry, the ladybug is shiny red foil, the baby owl has embossed feathers. The duckling has a fuzzy yellow chest, the penguin has a silver foil feathers, the bee has silver holographic wings... these little books are full of fun for babies and toddlers.
The lovely and talented Jess Racklyeft has been interviewed on Kids' Book Review... and she gave me a mention - thanks Jess! Red the interview here: http://www.kids-bookreview.com/2014/06/guest-post-illustrators-australia-with.html
I just came across this little review in Publishers Weekly of my Colors book published by Little, Brown Kids.
